Have questions about volunteering for the games? We've got answers!

How old do you need to be to volunteer?
Recreation, Parks and Culture has a minimum age requirement of 16 years for our volunteer positions. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all our volunteers and the community we serve. Interested volunteers who are not yet 16 years old can volunteer along with a guardian who is over the age of 18. Both will need to apply to the same position.

When are volunteers needed?
Volunteers will be needed leading up to the Games in addition to July 16 to 19. More detailed information on available shifts will be available soon! Until then you can view positions and be added to the waitlist.

Where do I find position descriptions?
More detailed information on position types will be available soon! Until then you can view positions and be added to the waitlist.

Do volunteers receive access to Games events?
Volunteers can attend any sporting event as a spectator by showing their accreditation tag at the admissions tent. The Opening Ceremonies is excluded from this and is a ticket-only event. Volunteers will be able to purchase tickets come Spring 2026.

Do I need to provide a criminal record check to volunteer?
Criminal record checks are position specific and can be complete at the time of registration.
